Dear Flora Vista Families,

Today marks the official launch of our 2026–27 Falcon Fund campaign!

Falcon Fund is Flora Vista PTA’s one major direct-giving campaign of the year, and this year our goal is to raise $100,000 by September 4 to help support the programs, resources, and experiences that make Flora Vista such a special place for our students.

Your Falcon Fund donations help provide:

• School supplies

• Teacher, staff, and grade-level grants

• Field trips for every grade

• Flora Vista Reads, Science Fair, assemblies, and other academic programs

• Scholastic News and YMCA Playground Partners

• Free community events

• Classroom and campus needs throughout the year

While Flora Vista is fortunate to receive public funding, many of the experiences our families value most are made possible through additional community support. Falcon Fund is one of the most important ways our families can directly invest in our school.

We hope every family will participate at a level that is meaningful for them. Every donation matters, and participation at every level helps us reach our goal.

Falcon Fund Tiers, Incentives & Classroom Competition

There are several Falcon Fund giving levels, each with its own donor incentives and recognition throughout the campaign. 

We also have a classroom participation competition, so every family that joins in helps their child’s class move closer to the top!

Families who donate before or during Back to School Bash, will receive an extra Falcon Fund incentive and be entered into a special raffle drawing.

One winning family will receive a basket filled with Flora Vista and local community goodies, and their child’s classroom will receive new playground supplies!

Families who donate today will also have their names added to our Falcon Community Giving Wall at Back to School Bash.

The winner will be announced at the end of the Bash, so donate today and come celebrate with us!

Communication is a high priority for our school and PTA. Please take a moment to visit our Flora Vista Website, which serves as a central hub for school and PTA information, Spirit Wear, Yearbooks, volunteer opportunities, Falcon Fund donations, and more.

Beginning next week, our weekly E-News will be sent every Friday through Membership Toolkit and will include important PTA news, upcoming events, and school information. We want to make sure every Flora Vista family receives it.

If you did not receive the email update from Principal Oyagi on Tuesday, August 11, you may have unsubscribed from Flora Vista emails and/or text messages.  Please note that by unsubscribing from any EUSD or Flora Vista email or text message, you will automatically be unsubscribed from ALL texts, automated calls, or emails from your school, principal, and the district. These channels are a vital means of communication to notify you of important updates and information.

The district has implemented a new visitor and volunteer check-in system.  ALL visitors and volunteers must bring their Driver’s License and plan to arrive early to sign in, as the first check-in takes some time to complete. 

Flora Vista Parents Book Club kicked off this summer and we all had a great time debating "Yesteryear"! Our current read is "Mad Mabel" and we're meeting September 10th in the evening (location TBD). Our PTA is powered by parents and caregivers who raise a hand and pitch in—and there’s a place for everyone, whether you have an hour to give or want to take on a bigger role. Check out our current open positions or simply volunteer when opportunities pop up throughout the year.

New this year: Every time you volunteer for a PTA event or initiative, your name will be entered into our monthly Volunteer Appreciation Drawing! Each month, we’ll celebrate our amazing volunteers and raffle off a little thank-you prize.
