Dear Flora Vista Families,
I hope your family is having a happy and healthy Thanksgiving week. It is certainly a week to reflect on who we are fortunate to have in our lives, and for me that includes our FV families and staff! This week I am trying to be intentional in slowing down and connecting with each one of my kids with some 1-on-1 time - just listening and talking in ways that we don’t often have time to do in the crazy “go go go” world that can be parenting/working in 2021. My wish for you and your family this week and in the other holiday weeks ahead is for moments to connect with your loved ones as well!
We received GREAT news last week about volunteers being allowed back soon. If you didn’t see Dr. Grey’s message on this topic, please find it HERE. Opportunities at the outset will include school volunteering and/or major events on campus (e.g., lunch games, garden, run club, more). Then in late January, classroom opportunities will be available. (Just as pre-COVID, classroom opportunities are managed by classroom teachers, who will reach out at a later date regarding when/if this might be occurring in your child’s class and/or on field trips.)
When we return next week, all classes will be reviewing the COVID protocols that allow us to keep school open all day for all students. Our students have done really well overall wearing masks, but our north county schools are still seeing outbreaks impacting classes and schools. We ask our students and staff to remain vigilant, so that we can continue to learn in person - where students learn best!
Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to you and your family!
In Gratitude,
Chris Juarez
